Former Pump.fun Developer Jailed After Breaking Bail Rules

Jarett Dunn, a former developer at Pump.fun and a well-known figure in the crypto world, is now in a London jail after breaking his bail conditions. Dunn, a Canadian, is facing trial for stealing $2 million in SOL tokens from the Solana-based meme coin platform.

Dunn May Plead Guilty Again

In May 2024, Dunn took nearly $2 million from Pump.fun and moved it to several wallets. He later gave some of that stolen crypto to wallets holding Solana meme coins or NFTs, which made him gain attention online.

Shortly after the theft, Dunn admitted to the act and claimed he did it because of a toxic work environment and poor handling of user funds at Pump.fun. He also accused the company of serious issues, like operating illegally and other shocking claims.

Dunn was arrested but later released on bail. He initially pleaded guilty in October 2024 but later tried to take back his plea while waiting to be sentenced. This caused him to lose his legal team and led to tighter bail conditions, including restricted travel and wearing an ankle monitor.

However, in June 2025, Dunn broke his bail terms by traveling from London to Liverpool without permission and tampering with his ankle monitor. He was quickly caught and is now in jail, waiting for his next court hearing.

According to his social media account (@STACCoverflow), now run by a friend named Mark Kelly, Dunn may be ready to plead guilty again and drop his request to change the plea.

Facing Up to 10 Years in Prison

In the UK, stealing over £500,000 through abuse of position can lead to up to 10 years in prison. Breaking bail can also add extra jail time. However, Dunn’s sentence might be lighter if he pleads guilty early or if his health is taken into account.

Pump.fun Moves On

While Dunn sits in jail, Pump.fun has moved forward. The platform recently raised $600 million through its ICO and is now valued at over $6 billion. It has launched several popular meme coins like Moo Deng (MOODENG), Fart Coin (FARTCOIN), and Peanut The Squirrel (PNUT).
