Wyoming’s Frontier Stable Token (FRNT) Coming to Hedera, But Not Yet for Sale
The Frontier Stable Token (FRNT), a stablecoin approved by the US state of Wyoming, will soon be available on the Hedera blockchain after launching its mainnet in August.
Hedera announced that the Wyoming Stable Token Commission, which manages FRNT, chose Hedera after reviewing several blockchain networks. At its launch, FRNT was already live on seven blockchains: Ethereum, Solana, Arbitrum, Avalanche, Polygon, Optimism, and Base.
According to Anthony Apollo, executive director of the Commission, Hedera was picked because of its strong security and compliance features.
However, despite expectations, users still cannot buy FRNT yet. The Commission’s website confirmed this, while Hedera said details on how to purchase the token would be shared “soon.”
Wyoming as a Crypto Hub
Wyoming has become one of the most crypto-friendly states in the US. It was among the first states to legally treat crypto like fiat money, attracting blockchain companies, pro-crypto politicians, and major events.
For example, in June, crypto exchange Kraken announced it would move its global headquarters to Cheyenne, Wyoming, highlighting the state’s supportive regulations.
At a Wyoming crypto conference, the American Innovation Project, a new advocacy group, hosted an event where a Justice Department official suggested major changes to how the government handles crypto enforcement cases.
