Aave (AAVE), one of the largest lending protocols in the decentralized finance (DeFi) ecosystem, has announced a strategic upgrade to its cross-chain infrastructure. The protocol has officially adopted Chainlink’s (LINK) Cross-Chain Interoperability Protocol (CCIP) as its standard for cross-chain interoperability.

Chainlink CCIP currently supports transfers of the decentralized stablecoin GHO within the Aave ecosystem and enables multi-chain governance through the Aave Delivery Infrastructure (a.DI). Under the new strategy, CCIP will serve as the core infrastructure for Aave’s expanding cross-chain capabilities.

Through its Stable Vaults system, users will be able to manage assets more efficiently across the Ethereum, Base, and Arbitrum networks. The system supports key functions such as vault rebalancing, yield optimization, asset deposits, and cross-chain transfers, allowing users to interact with multiple blockchains from a single platform.

Aave said it selected Chainlink CCIP because of its strong security, scalability, and interoperability. As the DeFi sector continues to grow, secure cross-chain infrastructure has become increasingly important for enabling seamless transfers of data and digital assets between blockchain networks.

Market analysts believe Aave’s adoption of CCIP is a significant milestone for both the Aave and Chainlink ecosystems. The integration is expected to accelerate the adoption of Chainlink’s interoperability technology and support the continued growth of the multi-chain DeFi ecosystem.
