Trezor Launches Safe 7: The First Transparent and Quantum-Ready Crypto Wallet
Prague, October 21, 2025 — Trezor, the company behind the world’s first hardware wallet, has officially launched Trezor Safe 7, a next-generation crypto wallet packed with new innovations.
This new device introduces several firsts in the crypto industry — including a fully auditable secure element (TROPIC01) and a quantum-ready architecture that keeps your digital assets safe even in the future.
Trezor Safe 7 also supports wireless connectivity, making it easy for users to manage crypto securely from anywhere using their phone or computer.
Transparent Security Chip
The highlight of the Safe 7 is TROPIC01, the world’s first transparent and open secure element. Unlike traditional chips that keep their design secret, TROPIC01’s architecture can be inspected and verified by anyone.
This transparency solves one of crypto’s biggest problems — users can finally trust the security hardware because they can see exactly how it works.
Ready for the Quantum Future
Trezor Safe 7 is built to last. Its quantum-ready architecture supports updates that will protect the device from future threats posed by quantum computers.
That means when crypto networks move to post-quantum encryption, users won’t have to buy a new wallet — Safe 7 will stay secure through updates.
“With Trezor Safe 7, we’re setting a new standard for transparency and security,” said Tomáš Sušanka, Trezor’s CTO.
“We’ve built a bootloader that can handle quantum-safe updates, so when the world shifts to post-quantum technology, your device stays protected.”
Security Without Compromise
The Safe 7 uses a dual-chip system for extra protection — combining the transparent TROPIC01 chip with an EAL6+ secure element for physical and cryptographic defense.
Your private keys never leave the device, and every sensitive action must be confirmed on the 2.5-inch color touchscreen.
“While some users move toward custodial wallets or ETFs, we want to remind everyone that true self-custody means full control — without compromise,” said Matěj Žák, CEO of Trezor.
Designed for Modern Use
Trezor Safe 7 focuses on usability and convenience. It supports:
- Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) for secure wireless connection
- Qi2 wireless charging
- Color touchscreen with Gorilla Glass
- Strong aluminum unibody
Connections are protected by Trezor Host Protocol (THP) — an open-source system that ensures encrypted and private communication across mobile and desktop devices.
Using the Trezor Suite app, users can manage thousands of cryptocurrencies, trade, stake, and connect with other crypto services — all in one platform.
Durable and Long-Lasting
Safe 7 is designed for everyday use and long-term reliability. It features:
- Anodized aluminum body
- IP54 dust and splash resistance
- Gorilla Glass 3 display
- LiFePO4 battery, which lasts four times longer than regular lithium batteries
There’s also a Bitcoin-only edition for users who want a wallet dedicated exclusively to Bitcoin.
Pricing and Availability
Trezor Safe 7 is priced at $249 (€249).
Pre-orders are open now for the Charcoal Black and Bitcoin-only versions via the official Trezor website, while the Obsidian Green edition will follow soon.
Shipping begins in four weeks, and customers who pre-order will receive a free Magnetic Qi2-certified Wireless Charger.
