Crypto Game 'OpenSeason' Shut Down, Developers Move to Adult Gambling Project
Crypto Shooter Game "OpenSeason" Canceled, Replaced by Adult Puzzle Game "Booby Bot"
The team behind OpenSeason, a Fortnite-style crypto battle royale game, has stopped working on it. Instead, they launched a new adult-themed puzzle game called Booby Bot.
What is Booby Bot?
Booby Bot is based on an old internet game called Battle Nips. In this game, players try to guess where a woman’s nipples are hidden on a 10x10 grid (100 squares). But there’s a twist—it uses AI to generate the images, and players must find a tattoo by paying to guess.
- Each guess costs about $0.50 in USDC.
- Every new guess costs 10% more.
- One guess reveals 3 tiles on the grid.
- If you guess wrong, your money is split:
- 80% goes to the game pot (prize pool),
- 5% to the jackpot,
- 15% to developers.
Everyone plays on the same AI image until someone solves the puzzle. If someone guesses right on the first try, they win both the game pot and jackpot. If it takes more tries, they win only the game pot.
As the game's co-creator Krypticrooks said:
“It’s just boobs and gambling. Who doesn’t like that?”
What Happened to OpenSeason?
OpenSeason was a crypto-based battle royale game using memes like Bored Apes and Doge themes. It launched on the Epic Games Store, and included NFTs and a token called FU (FU Money).
But the developers ran into money problems. The game was paused because server costs were too high and they didn’t have enough financial support.
“We could turn it back on, but we have no backers,” said Krypticrooks.
Although the team behind OpenSeason is also behind Booby Bot, the new game isn’t officially released under the same studio name (Fractional Uprising Studios). Booby Bot might still use the FU token, which has lost 95% of its value since its peak.
Why Did OpenSeason Fail?
Krypticrooks said running a game and maintaining a crypto token at the same time was too hard. The community pressured them to make the token’s price go up, instead of enjoying the game.
“We gave the community a non-VC-backed token, but all they did was take money out of it,” he said.
The team even burned 82% of the FU token supply in December to save it, which caused a short-term price boost. But soon after, it dropped sharply and is now worth much less.
Managing the game, remote developers, token economy, and community demands became too stressful.
“I was working from early morning to midnight, solving technical problems, managing people, and also dealing with the token. It was a nightmare,” Krypticrooks explained.
What's Next?
With Booby Bot, they’re keeping things simple: AI-generated nude images, a grid puzzle, and crypto gambling.
“Hopefully, one day people will laugh and say, ‘We made money by showing tits,’” said Krypticrooks.
